Mike, a freelance photographer for the Placer Herald, became interested in photography as a means to spend more time with his sons while enjoying their activities and he's been hooked ever since! His formal background is in law enforcement, serving as deputy sheriff for 25 years in Placer County. He is a lifetime California resident and has captured many of California's scenic areas throughout the past 10 years. He specializes in nature and landscape photography and has two sons. He is a published novelist, and has been a consultant to Fox News and various radio stations. Mike brings a wealth of information to his safaris!
