Photo Safari Network Foundation
Our Foundation
The Foundation exists to educate the public about photography and how it can be used to document the world as it is, serve as a call to action, or to simply allow one to express and explore his/her own creativity. The Foundation also strives to raise awareness and appreciation of nature, and the impact of man on the total environmental system.
The Foundation:
- Provides scholarships and free and low-cost opportunities for youth to discover photography
- Holds speaker events open to the public
- Works with non-profit agencies to increase environmental education and awareness, and
- Has created and continues to manage a camera exchange program, increasing accessibility to photographic equipment.
Foundation opportunities are designed to accommodate basic skill levels and provide both instruction and constructive discussion throughout experiences. Participants gain first-hand knowledge about photographic equipment and concepts which allows the exploration of photography as a vocation, avocation, or simply a hobby.
As the photography knowledge increases within the public, we all become more proficient and effective in communicating through imagery. Expression through photography can have a significant, lasting impact and can aid in the conservation and restoration of our natural ecosystems for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biodiversity.
