Day 1: Meet safari leaders and participants, then travel by van/mini-bus to the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy a tour through the bison elk enclosures, which allow visitors to photograph the large animals up close. There is a great visitor center or travel any of the 3 nature trails available on the refuge. After a daytime stop at the Wildlife Refuge, we will enjoy the evening spectacular at the Balloon Classic.
Day 2: Enjoy the full day at the Annual Iowa Hot Air Balloon Classic. Activities include optional hot air balloon rides at sunrise & sunset. Enjoy music by the Hot Tamales and The Red Hots performing on stage, festivities and a fantastic firework display in the evening.
Day 3: Visit the reclusive Kalona Amish settlements. Ample time will be scheduled to photograph the scenic rolling hills, where time moves at a slower pace. You will have the opportunity to photograph the Kalona Historical Village, and may witness interesting, picturesque, and often backbreaking farming methods used by the Amish settlers for centuries.Specific itinerary subject to change. Pricing includes double room, transportation, and entrance fees.
There is an optional Balloon Ride available for our adventurous participants.
